For my last cigar this evening, I decided to light up an Ashton VSG Spellbound, hand made in the Dominican Republic. The VSG is blended exclusively for Ashton by Carlos Fuente Jr. using 4 to 5 year old aged Dominican tobacco. Hmm... No wonder this cigar is so DARN DELICIOUS! Yes, not only do I enjoy the Padron but, I am also a Fuente Fan too.
Wrapper: Ecuadorian
Binder: Dominican
Filler: Dominican
Size: 7.5 x 54
It started off with a nice powerful yet tasty coffee smooth flavor and mellowed out after a few puffs. The burn is uneven and the ash did hang on to over an inch in length. The ash is dark grey with black. The wrapper is a beautiful dark brown with slight veins. I am enjoying this cigar right now with an ice cold Coca Cola. No alcohol today as I am completely out of stock. HEY! What do you expect? I am working.
This cigar was also very good right down to the nub, no harsh taste. It really mellow out a lot the closer I got to the end. I washed it down with a good strong cup of Cafe Jo's Kenya coffee.
Anyway, I hope you have a safe and happy Holiday and don’t forget our Troops.
And I HIGHLY recommend the Ashton VSG Spellbound.
‘nuff said.
