Happy Memorial Day!

And God Bless our Troops, who are serving, did serve and gave their lives for our great Country, Good Old US of A.

I served in our Nation’s Proud Army but, that was a long time ago. Well, it seems like a long time ago to me. Anyway, I hope that you are not only enjoying a fine cigar with your favorite beverage but, also taking time to remember and pray for our fine Men and Women who are in uniform whether they are in the Military, Law Enforcement or a Fire Fighter. Since 9/11, I have come to really recognize that Memorial Day should also be for those who are giving their lives to keep our streets safe from crime and save our lives from disasters. I want to take this time to say, God Bless the Men and Women who are our Police and Fire Fighters.

I am curious to know what cigars you are smoking today in honor of our Troops, please let me know.

Cuesta-Rey Vintage Centenario Standford’s Cameroon Reserve, the Pyramid No. 9
Size: 61/4 x 52
Wrapper: Cameroon

This morning I enjoyed a Cuesta-Rey Vintage Centenario Standford’s Cameroon Reserve, the Pyramid No. 9.  When I first lit it up I was very impressed with the sweet oily, smooth taste. The sweetness seemed to mellow out after a few puffs though. The wrapper was veiny and brown. When the ash was about an inch in length I could see the red hot ember through a slight crack in the gray, black ash. The taste was consistently mild at about mid-point and I was able to smoke it right down to the nub without tasting anything bitter or harsh. I enjoyed this cigar with a strong cup of Kenya coffee from Café Jo.

After my delicious turkey and cheese sandwich I am going to enjoy a Casa Torano cigar. It has been a long time since I have had one so, what the heck. I will post a review after I am done smoking it. Hey, I am working today which is preventing me from enjoying a good old fashion bbq with family and friends so, I figure what the heck might as well have a little fun while I work.

'nuff said for now.
