Well, we in California were spared the axe when it came to taxes in the last election but it looks Nevada didn't fare so well. I can't believe that Vegas, one of the last bastions of adult fun, will soon fall to the anti-smoke nazis!

According to an article in Cigar Aficionado's Cigar Insider newsletter, the implementation and enforcement of Question 5, which takes effect tomorrow, November 28th remains to be determined.

"The law is so poorly written and disorganized in terms of enforcement and fines," said Michael Frey of FreyBoy Tobacco, a company that owns and operates kiosk cigar shops in Las Vegas. "I will be speaking with the attorneys."

The current law would also affect his flagship location, Casa Fuente in the Forum Shops at Caesars Palace. Smoking in malls is verboten, but the Forum Shops mall is zoned as casino floors.

I hope that they get to the bottom of this as this is one of our favorite places to sit and watch the world go by while enjoying a fine cigar and a mojito!
